of the page as possible -- tag -- skip navigation WELCOME TO THE FOX VALLEY YOUTH HOCKEY ASSOCIATION The (FVYHA)'s mission is to give youth ages 4 to 15 the opportunity to develop character, sportsmanship and teamwork skills through the sport of hockey. FVYHA is Wisconsin Amateur Hockey Association (WAHA) Division II (Region 3) certified. The Association offers instructional and competitive hockey opportunities for students in Neenah, Menasha, Hortonville (Greenville is in the Hortonville District), and Shiocton School Districts. Introductory Program This is a “learn to skate” program focused on teaching the basics of hockey skating. This program is typically for the young skater (ages 4-8) and beginning skaters. This program runs in two 8 week sessions (one starting in October, and the second starting in January). You can attend either one of the sessions or the full 16 weeks. IP meets for one hour, once a week. Click here for more information! U6 - U8 Mites The U6 and U8 age level focus on learning to skate and play in a fun high skill growth environment. Kids are grouped by age and skill level and play cross-ice hockey to maximize player development. U6 and U8 Mites are for kids 5-8 years old. Mites practice one to two times a week with a cross-ice scrimmage on the weekend. Click here for more information about Mites. U10 - U14 Travel At age nine boys and girls begin to play full-ice hockey and build on their skills. Emphasis remains on teaching skills in a positive environment for growth and development for each skater. A skater evaluation - tryout - process in mid October each year is utilized to place skaters on teams by skill level in order to maximize individual development. There is a girls only organization available in the Fox Valley associated with the Appleton Area Hockey Association (AAHA) called the "Freeze."
